A vegetarian delight!
A native of Maharashtra, India, Madhu Nene guides students on an exciting adventure through the colorful world of Indian cuisine. Keeping in mind the growing popularity of vegetarian food, this class will focus on the preparation of an all vegetarian meal. We will make Palak Shorba (a hearty spinach soup loaded with healthy nutrients), Chavli Usal (a protein-packed black eyed peas curry), Baingan Bharta (an exotic blend of roasted eggplant, herbs and spices), Lemon Rice (a tangy rice dish that is very popular in Southern India) and Sevai Kheer (a creamy dessert made with vermicelli). We will then sit down to feast, chat, and learn more about the nutritional value of Indian cuisine.
