Phone Art Box Project

You are here

A public art project re-purposing a rapidly disappearing material culture--the once ubiquitous phone booth.

As cell phone use increases, the phone booth has become forgotten.   What's a City to do with abandoned boxes on sidewalks and building walls... turn them into public art said Mayor Joe.  And behold, the Council has teamed up with the Nave Gallery to reach our industrious public artists to commission more public art in the City.   Check out the work below as it emerges and a Christian Science Monitor Weekly article on the project.

If you wish to do a box please submit an application to the Nave here.
