The Morgan Liu-Packard Accordion Situation

Music Genre:
Band Description:

I try to go narrow and deep with my music. I think it comes out in the way I play accordion.

Highlights of the past 20 years include performing solo electronic music in ten countries,  playing with the School of Honk brass band in countless unanounced parades through Somerville, and gigging with my sax/melodica/accordion trio, Brocade*. My latest passion is the traditional music of southeastern Europe (the Balkans) learning to play it on accordion. I'll be sitting in my house Saturday, playing some music from those parts, plus a bit of dance music from elsewhere in the world,.

*MY not as in ownership, but my like my family

John Shakespear

Music Genre:
Porchfest Sub Genre:
Band Description:

Cambridge native and indie-folk songwriter John Shakespear has performed all around the United States, sharing the stage with acts such as Henry Jamison and Lewis del Mar. American Songwriter Magazine described his debut solo record, Spend Your Youth, as "reminiscent of Fleet Foxes and Elliott Smith,” and WBUR called it "an antidote to a dire national mood." With a persevering warmth that transcends national and political boundaries, Shakespear has written a coming-of-age record tinged by the times.
