Modern Painters is an autobiographical coming-of-age myth chronicling the Sartrean situation of a present-day American youth. Prodded ever-forward in a world characterized by competing dogmas, nihilist hedonism, and a deconstructionist “unmasking of” a society once steadfast in its ways, Painters is concerned less with the contemporary state of being-in-the-world than with the process of the creative act within it.

Gillian Grogan (on first): Full-bodied folk in a mossy chalice. What more could you desire? "An unforgiving tuggin' at your roots, no matter where you come from." -Woven Collective https://gilliangrogan.bandcamp.com/
Big Spender Trio (on last): Down homestyle, deep fried hammond B3 organ + vintage keys driven funk. Watch yourself now! https://bigspendertrio.bandcamp.com/
Kristina Staplefeld can’t perform on Sunday, unfortunately. Sorry about that.

Brett and Ryan were in a band together throughout college, where they played monthly shows at the legendary Whitney Bar and Grill in the great city of Hamden, Connecticut. After college, they both found themselves in Boston, and began playing as an acoustic duo at whatever gigs they could get: bars, bridal showers, weddings, birthdays, house parties, and everything in between. After playing together for 10 years, they've got a pretty wide ranging set list- everything from Hall & Oates, to Blackstreet, to The Kinks, to Alanis Morissette, and much more.
