With a heavy focus on blues and rock, influenced by elements of soul, funk, and jazz, this high-energy vocal band uses a powerful rhythm section and bright background vocals to build the foundation for a wide variety of original songs and creative covers that truly capture the Similar Jones sound: one marked by tight harmonies, intricate rhythms, innovative arrangements, and - most importantly - a rock-solid groove.

Soundbites are a community-based, contemporary a cappella group. We have 20 co-ed members, ranging in age from 20s to 60s and hailing from all throughout the greater Boston area. Directed by Sandy Serkes, we enjoy singing an eclectic repertoire, ranging from pop to jazz to Broadway. You can see us performing two annual concerts in Lexington, MA and throughout the year at local gigs and porchfests.

Join us for an afternoon of singing, with opportunities to join in yourself! We'll be featuring a variety of quartets and music and sharing our love of harmony with the PorchFest community.

Barbershop music is a uniquely American close harmony musical art form whose roots lie in African-American improvisation and European harmony traditions. It is a distinct style of unaccompanied (a cappella) vocal music characterized by consonant four-part chords for every melody note in a primarily homorhythmic​ (the same word sounds at the same time)​ texture.

Similar Jones is a high-energy vocal band, primarily rock and soul and influenced by elements of blues, funk, and jazz. Our repertoire consists of cover songs from the 50s, 60s, 70s, and today, and includes a growing number of original tunes. The Jones sound is marked by tight harmonies, intricate rhythms, innovative arrangements, and -- most importantly -- by a rock-solid groove.

A mouthful of sound? We’ve got you covered. Hailing from Cambridge, MA we’re Boston; wicked Boston. Don’t believe us? We’ve got the personality--Bostonality--to prove it. A group of young professional 20-somethings couldn’t satisfy their a cappella fix, so Bostonality was born. Passionate about music, we’re a cappella junkies; and that’s where our stories collide. Our semi-professional, co-ed, post-collegiate family performs energetic and eclectic tunes at showcases, benefits, private events and competitions. Inspired by a blend of poppy-rock-folky-soul, our sound fills. Really, we just love to sing.

We are an irreverent, 9-part vocal band covering an eclectic mix of pop tunes and deep cuts from the 50s to the present. We've been proud to perform at street festivals (Harvard Square's Mayfair), charitable events (The AIDS walk), vocal showcases (WERS's All A Cappella Live), local venues (The Landsdowne Pub), and private functions.
