March 7: International Night We’ll take a sonic global tour, from the 60s through the 2010s, including soul, funk and disco from the West Indies and 70s psychedelic rock freakouts from Brazil, India, Indonesia.
March 14: Boston Classics with Jon Bernhardt of WMBR’s Breakfast of Champions. Come on down to hear the 25-year veteran of college radio in Boston spin rarely heard vintage tunes from all-time local favorites like Volcano Suns, the Turbines, and the Bags along with some lost classics that veteran scenesters might remember from the left of the dial.
March 21: Local Spotlight Mickey Bliss and Club Bohemia spotlight some of the best bands playing out in Cambridge and Somerville today, from longtime favorites like the Lyres, the Neats and the Neighborhoods to current live favorites, with in-store performances from members of Old Hat and Hooker Clops.
March 28: What’s That Song? Hear a fun assortment of familiar favorite songs done like you’ve never heard them before. From roots reggae artists covering classic country, to international artists covering the hits of the U.S. and the U.K., to contemporary funk takes on the classic songbook, you’ll hear a mix stretching from the 60s to today, with Somerville Grooves gift certificates for two prize winners!
