Santosha is a Boston area based Kirtan band lead by Naomi Edelman on lead vocals and harmonium. Santosha creates original compositions using tradition sanskrit and the variety of musical backgrounds of it's members Paul Erlich (guitar), Alison Dagger (flute), and Lauren Calista (backup vocals and drum). Santosha's music is a spiritual experience that will release your inner struggles and provide you with a beautiful and enlightening meditational practice to feel energized and renewed. You can find the band hosting Kirtan events around the Somerville/Arlington area or accompanying Yoga classes and other meditational gatherings.

NOTE: Gamelankemana will be playing from 3pm-4pm.

Gamelankemana aims to take Balinese gamelan to new places--both physically and musically--by reinterpreting traditional repertoire and bringing it to new audiences. The ensemble is based on a form of Balinese music called gender wayang, which is used to accompany shadow-puppet plays. Even in Bali, this style of music is considered extremely demanding because the players must play independent interlocking parts with both hands, while also using their palms and fingers to dampen the keys after they are struck.

Forró Zabumbeca plays dance music from the Northeast of Brazil using all the latest technology: 8-bass button accordions, rustic fiddles, guitars with extra strings, too many zabumbas, and one large triangle. Join us on our favorite porch for an energetic set of traditional and original forró!

Ladino and Armenian traditional music with a Mediterranean flavor. Ladino music has roots in the Jewish communities of medieval Spain.

Blossoming from the Slavic heart of Greater Boston, the Somerville Symphony Orkestar is an all-original Eastern European Punk Funk band. Formed in 2009, the SSO has been constantly gaining notice from many of the music scenes in and around New England. With the success of their first album, the SSO has performed with such bands as the Rebirth Brass Band, Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band, the Stepkids, and Dudu Tassa &amp; the Kuwaitis. With moving rhythms and hyptnotic melodies, complex arrangements reign in the chaos only to explode into equal parts mosh-pit and horah, the SSO is the ultimate party band for the crowd that wants to dance all night.

School of HONK is a community street band inspired by the radical marching bands that attend Somerville's annual HONK! Festival every year. The group is open to ANYONE, of any age or musical experience, and we parade every Sunday afternoon around Davis Square. Come hear "Billie Jean," "Ghostbusters Theme," and many other funky popular favorites as we pay homage to the age-old streetband tradition with songs, new and old.
