Cover Letter

Music Genre:
Band Description:

Michael Sachs (clarinet & vocals, NYC) and Aaron Darrell (bass & vocals, SVILLE) met in Boston around 2009. They formed a band with drummer Jun Young Song called MATADOR, which held down a monthly residency in Cambridge for a year and half, and published their debut recording on BIRN records, BIRN's first release as well. Since then they have both been active touring musicians, parading around the country sharing their unique style of composition and improvisation. After Jun left for Korea, Aaron & Michael formed the duo "Cover Letter" composed of music written by both members. It is at once beautiful and frightening, and loaded with sparkling personality.

TW Walsh - Nowhere Lights - Frank Black Appreciation Quartet

Music Genre:
Band Description:

Technically speaking, TW Walsh doesn't exist on this
plane. However, his avatar, a six-foot tall male human, translates his
astral mind emanations into something suitable for physical
limitations of the human ear.

Nohere Lights are Neil Lawrence, Chris Forkey, John Glenshaw, and Michael Murray. Nowhere Lights plays spacey Americana, like a band in the middle of the ocean.

Frank Black Appreciation Quartet is Ryan Barret, John Beck, Joe Elia, and Michael Murray. We are playing a selection of porch-friendly Frank Black songs, because we are fans.

André Obin

Add to calendar:
0
Performance Date and Time :
Friday, July 18 8:00 PM

An object in motion will remain in motion, and for synth-pop purveyor André Obin, no force has been able to stop him from careening through the different lanes of an endless musical highway. Genre-bending and shape-shifting are standard fare; taking risks is part of the fun. As a musician, singer and producer, André draws inspiration for his songs from a deep emotional well. The music unfolds simultaneously with life itself.
