MJEML was a CBS best local rock band 2013, in part because of numerous multimedia projects and collaborations including Faith in Free - an original live rock ballet at Dorchester’s historic Strand Theatre with BalletRox, Art-Music Exchange - a collaboration with 5 visual artists creating songs based on visual works and visual works based on songs, songs to celebrate each of the speakers at TEDxSomerville, and a continuing run as the house band at the nationally franchised Encyclopedia Show. Lucy and the Sunshine Kids

Band Description:

Americana/Folk with originals by Lucy and covers by the whole group. There will be fiddles, xylophones, voices of all shapes and colors, and guitars too. Lucy does classical music by trade, so be prepared for a bit of Bach at some point. Swing on by, we'll be on the back porch with plenty of room for folks on the lawn.

TW Walsh - Nowhere Lights - Frank Black Appreciation Quartet

Music Genre:
Band Description:

Technically speaking, TW Walsh doesn't exist on this
plane. However, his avatar, a six-foot tall male human, translates his
astral mind emanations into something suitable for physical
limitations of the human ear.

Nohere Lights are Neil Lawrence, Chris Forkey, John Glenshaw, and Michael Murray. Nowhere Lights plays spacey Americana, like a band in the middle of the ocean.

Frank Black Appreciation Quartet is Ryan Barret, John Beck, Joe Elia, and Michael Murray. We are playing a selection of porch-friendly Frank Black songs, because we are fans.

André Obin

Add to calendar:
0
Performance Date and Time :
Friday, July 18 8:00 PM

An object in motion will remain in motion, and for synth-pop purveyor André Obin, no force has been able to stop him from careening through the different lanes of an endless musical highway. Genre-bending and shape-shifting are standard fare; taking risks is part of the fun. As a musician, singer and producer, André draws inspiration for his songs from a deep emotional well. The music unfolds simultaneously with life itself.

Band Description:

Hot Molasses delivers tunes that pop like the New Pornographers, wink like the Kinks, and bounce like Talking Heads. Named for the great Molasses Flood of 1919, the band's raucous live show shakes your shoes, sweetens your batter, and pleases ALL of the toddlers.
