Whether it's firing up the crowd at the Middle East Downstairs, turning rock concerts into funky dance parties, or just laying it down on the street for the hell of it, Billy Wine brings the music that makes people move.

An ongoing, ever-shifting group of musicians who've been playing regularly for over a year, The Deep explore the musical depths in a free format that includes drums, bass, guitars, and sax. The sound is rooted in our collective musical DNA and based on improvisation.

Born of funk and steeped in soul, The Dank Tops will surely rock your night. With Chris Sublette on bass, Matt Ohlheiser on drums, and Bill Kenny on guitar, the band churns out undertones of Jamiroquai and Soulive topped with a sprinkling of neo-soul sweetness taken from D’Angelo and The Soultronics. Gracefully perched center stage is Emily Jones, a singer who truly bares her soul with every note she sings. Bringing an impassioned and sultry tone, she follows directly in the footsteps of the late Amy Winehouse. Providing a similar breath of fresh air, Jones is the perfect compliment to the Dank Top sound.

Opposite People plays Afro-funk and world groove music. They enjoy playing outdoor and community events around Boston. The band was formed to play Friday Night Traffic Jam in Hyde Park in 2008, an outdoor evening music series. Initially the group played Fela, Antibalas, Budos and Daktaris jams and then expanded its repertoire to include 1960s reggae, Bollywood, 1970's Ethiopia and even a few originals. It's laid back, funky and improvisational.
