The Sudden Quartet is the reunion of a groove-oriented modern jazz/funk/rock group of old friends playing original compositions and improvisations. The members currently live in Somerville, Providence, Los Angeles and Chicago, and perform with bands including Soulsha (Boston), Transpiler (Cambridge), Negro Galacticus (LA) and Small Talk (Boston). Dr. Fidelity is a seven-piece soul band from East Somerville in favor of positive vibes, friendship, dancing, and occasional lovesick balladry (for good measure). The Gravel Project is the creation of guitarist, composer and singer, Andrew Gravel and Hammond B3 organist, Jordan Gravel. With a sound that spans multiple genres including funky blues, rock, soul, and jazz, the band has been creating a buzz with their eclectic brand of music and gaining momentum in Boston, New Hampshire, and all along the East Coast. The Gravel Project electrifies crowds with inventive original songs, creative interpretations of well known classics, and high energy group improvisation. The band is currently working on their second full length album, and booking club dates, festival dates, and private events for 2017 and beyond.

The Van Burens are a family band of like-minded weirdos who love to make vital and vivid music together. The Official Band of Quincy, MA (the City of Presidents), the VBs are dedicated to the pursuit of fun, energetic shows that move folks to dance, laugh, and feel feelings. These songwriter nerds serve up reggae, funk, and rock music in the tradition of family ensembles like The Wailers, Parliament, and The Band, often with an irreverent take.

The Non Marking Souls are a four piece, organ, guitar, bass, and drum, ensemble from the Merrimac Valley area playing instrumental funk music ranging from classic artists like Jimmy Smith to contemporary legends such as Soulive and Medeski Martin and Wood.

A group of long time coworkers brought together by their passion for music, Fulla Schmidt brings a classic vibe to a contemporary music scene. Beginning their musical journey three years ago in a basement in Trumbull Connecticut, the group is known for performing covers that span the breadth of the musical field, from Bill Withers to Blackstreet. The band enjoys nothing more than making music together, and their infectious joy will travel farther than the music that will carry down the street. If you want to share the fun and also experience the full sound of a seven piece band, come join them at 36 Hudson Street from 2-4pm.

School of HONK is where we learn to play music the street band way! Armed with trumpets and trombones, saxophones and snare drums, clarinets and sousaphones, our mission is to spread the joy of music-making by parading loud and proud around our neighborhood to inspire our friends and neighbors to join our fun.
