VQnC is a singer and songwriter who was nominated for the 2018 Boston Music Awards' R&B Artist of the Year, was featured in Marie Claire Magazine, and is releasing her debut album on April 2nd.

Her love of performance took shape in the southern clime of Charleston, South Carolina, where she grew up in a musical family with strong Celtic roots. After moving to Boston in 2013, she discovered a rich musical scene where she could explore new musical genres and grow as an artist. Before long, she was turning her poetry into songs.

Using music to process her own experiences, VQnC gives emotions new life, and creates a space for listeners find their own meaning.

Our charity this year is Elevate Youth (https://www.elevate-youth.org/), a non-profit that empowers youth from underserved neighborhoods by cultivating long term mentoring relationships through engagement in transformative outdoor experiences.

Opposite People is an afrobeat/funk/world music dance band from Boston. We specialize in performing at outdoor, community events around the Boston area, including numerous appearances at the Jamaica Pond Lantern Parade, Wake Up the Earth Festival, Hyde Park Traffic Jam, Somerville Porchfest, Roslindale Farmer’s Market, Egleston Square and East Somerville Main Streets, and many more.
