Banjovillian is Somerville resident Julia Poirier and one or more of her banjo-playing friends. Julia plays old-time banjo tunes at a laid-back pace that encourages singing and playing along. This is what music was like before it became a spectator sport. Y'all come on over and set a spell.

The Smallest Town Ensemble is a musical project created by Matt Bowker to celebrate the community spirt of Boston area neighborhoods.

somerville's newest stringband sweethearts. folk, country, indie-pop and americana cover tunes, 1800s-2010s, played on banjo, gitar, bull fiddle and up to five ukuleles & ukulele-variants.

good. What makes his songs click is his honesty, his realness. There

MCV is a repertory ensemble performing martial, dance, and folk music drawn from 17th, 18th, and early 19th century sources in America and Europe as well as contemporary compositions. MCV is about history and music, education and entertainment. A small group of MCV performers including Somerville resident Tom Vandervort will be performing today.
