BAKER THOMAS BAND - The clever and catchy hit songs cover the spectrum of classic rock, funk and groove, with hints of bluegrass and jam band.... so many influences... one big sound. RYAN TAYLOR BAND - Steeped in various forms of traditional music, Ryan Taylor Band focuses on strong songwriting and 4-part vocal harmonies to create a dynamic and layered sonic blanket that is the bedrock of American folk music.

J Johnson (mandolin) and Chris Reckling (guitar) are The Splinters.
We play bluegrass, fiddle tunes, swing, and Americana music. Our influences include Doc Watson, Norman Blake, Tony Rice, David Grisman, OCMS, Gillian Welch, Bill Frisell, Duke Ellington, Chris Thile, Frank Zappa, Hot Rize and many others.

When Kristina (formerly Living In Polaroids) moved to Cambridge from New York City, she met Isaiah (also of The Takeaways) and they started playing music together. Then one day, Rosheen fell from the sky and landed in the middle of a Bookends practice session and began to play bodhrán. So they just went with it.

Just a guy with a Hammered Dulcimer, a porch, and a few songs in his head. By no means a pro, but if you've never seen a hammered dulcimer, they're pretty darned cool.

Genres: folk and indie rock, mostly acoustic; covers and originals.

Banjovillian is Somerville resident Julia Poirier and one or more of her banjo-playing friends. Julia plays old-time banjo tunes at a laid-back pace that encourages singing and playing along. This is what music was like before it became a spectator sport. Y'all come on over and set a spell.

Yani is an accomplished banjoist, and vocalist. She describes her music as mountain style, or “vintage country”.
