Driftwood Soldier isn't your average mandolin-bass foot-stomping gutter-folk duo.

Queer anarcha-feminist folk, a solo performance with an acoustic guitar and a loud uncompromising voice. A fantastical new genera of folk, honesty and politics I like to call "zine punk". From Berlin/Boston. The crowbar is a tool for deconstruction of toxic ideologies that seem insurmountable to dismantle, like nails trapped in the walls of institutional borders. If only we had the right tool for the job! That's what this crowbar is for.
Attention: THIS PORCH COMES WITH A ZINE DISTRO!
I will play some fast songs, some slow songs, some finger-picking, some angry, optimistic, lovesick, and most likely some broken strings (playing music is intense)

A few friends playing old-time fiddle, Irish jigs, and assorted folk tunes.

Unplugged.
Gillian may be joined by Grace Taylor, Cameron Porter Lash, Gabriella Martini and countless other local singer-songwriters, though definitely not Sam Moss, who is attending another non-porchfest concert, or Chris Chronopoulos, who is going to banjo camp.
We'll be unplugged in a tiny tent, weather permitting.

Sounds of folk mixed with rock and adult beverages. I'm trying the solo act after playing lead guitar for a few bands. Cheers!
I will be at Beadkreative from 12 - 2, which is a great local store at 369 Somerville Ave.

Ed Ayoub is a songwriter of our time, yet he is timeless. Ed doesn't
believe in time but his songs are short & quirky, catchy, expressive,
good. What makes his songs click is his honesty, his realness. There
is some beat connection. Ed captures it in laments, odes &
celebrations:

The Novel Ideas are a country folk quintet of friends from the great state of Massachusetts. Featuring the voices of three different songwriters, The Novel Ideas create a blend of pastoral, harmony driven, and plaintive Americana. They spent the past year playing shows in support of their debut album, “Home,” which was recorded in a barn in Jaffrey, NH. In June 2014 they released a 10" single "Lost on the Road", featuring two new songs and marking the band's first effort as a five piece. They’ve shared the stage with acts such as Lord Huron, Caveman, Little Green Cars, and are currently touring nationally while working on their next record.
