The Group Activity is a Boston-based band that shines light on the changes we would like to see in the world. Our music explores American folk, R&B, and reggae roots in a celebration of life that also acknowledges the problems we see within our lives and the world around us. Ultimately, we seek to unite and rejoice in this beautiful experience called life, together.

Songwriter Eric Waxwood conjures an aggressive old-style sound on his National Steel Guitar. Scott Pittman (drums) and Matthew Murphy (bass) drive the rhythm section, while Jim Clifford adds harmonica, hoots, and hollers. Combined, it’s an alchemy of old and new, a reverence for Delta Blues greats such as Son House and Charlie Patton. But don’t get it twisted, this isn’t some precious museum piece. It’s get up, shake and dance music—a hardcore boogie.

The Ominous Vultures have several names, all of them silly, and they play a mix of music rooted in traditional blues and funky old soul, which they take very seriously. New to this musical endeavor, but seasoned professionals, the Ominous Vultures have all worked together in various other projects, have devoted fans in all of them, and are looking forward to the expansion of this exciting collaboration.

Ryan Lee Crosby is an American guitarist, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Boston, Massachusetts. A versatile, exploratory musician with a restless drive to create, Crosby's unique sound is a fusion of American blues and world music influences, which he performs on 12 and 20 string guitars. In his time as an active artist, Crosby has produced 5 albums, 3 EPs and a film score, as well as having performed live across the US and around the world. Whether playing solo or leading a full band, Crosby's intricate playing, propulsive rhythms and dynamic vocals create a sound that confronts listeners with an immediacy rarely found in the work of traditional singer/songwriters.
