Front porch music from the simple days. The beautiful timbre of the old time banjo, fiddle, guitar, and voice will bring to you traditional songs of Americana taken from the likes of the Carter Familiy, Tommy Jarrell, and Hazel Dickens. If the weather is warm there also might be blending whistles from Timber, Somerville's favorite parrot. 

Trail mix is a highly-edible combination of dried fruit, nuts, and chocolate that boosts energy yet sustains for the long haul. Trail Mix is also a highly-listenable combination of harmonies, voicings, and folk styles that will boost your psychic energy and sustain your mood for the long haul. We play great tunes from a century of north American folk music, from Carter Family favorites to contemporary gems. 5 musicians, one mix. Grab an an ear-full!

Classic to modern folk and rock covers, and a few originals to boot! Searing vocal harmonies and tight rhythmic grooves make this band the life of the party -- so come around back to see, hear and have a whole lotta fun!!

We are a conflagration de musica from the OTHER side of the river Charles.  Call it Americana.  Call it Alt-Country.  Call it what you'd like.  Just come and bend and ear and a few other body parts too.

The Mill River Rounders play with the living quality of Old Time and Americana music - washtub bass, banjo, guitar, and fiddle (if his bike endures the commute).  There is an atmosphere of simple enjoyment that is pleasant in a somehow mischievous kind of way.  They bring to life the recurring struggles, joys, and folly of the ordinary lives from the past which the rounders offer as a healing reminder that people are people, that life has always been a little wonky, and that there is still time to care and to laugh.

With a mix of blues, rock, bluegrass, funk, reggae, and honky-tonk, The Erlenmeyers have been rocking the Northeast music scene for over a decade.  Based in Somerville, this is the band’s fifth performance at Somerville Porchfest, yet first performing under their new band name: Mighty Smooth.
