Pugliese food isn’t what you may associate with your typical “red sauce” Italian cuisine. Situated along the Adriatic Sea, this region’s cuisine focuses on seafood, light sauces, vegetables, and olive oil.
Join Somerville resident Valeria Amato for a fun evening of “Pugliese comfort food.” We’ll prepare focaccia morbida, a variation of focaccia made with potatoes, and baccala in umido, a salt cod stew made with tomatoes and olives. Bring an apron, an appetite, and a pan to bring home your homemade foccacia (we won’t tell if you eat it all on the way home).
