Reuniting due to last year's successful team-up at last year's event, Sam Spencer and Jim Miller will be celebrating Porchfest 2013 in the best way possible - by hanging out on a porch and playing music. There will be some improvised combination of electric bass, guitar, upright bass, banjo, keyboard, laptop beats, dancing and merriment. Shenanigans will likely be involved as well. There is literally no way to know what will happen, but it can be assured that it will be good times.

Different artists with diverse backgrounds will be presenting their repertoire and improvising on the porch of 427 Medford Street.

Amy Kucharik is a singer-songwriter, dancer, and DJ from Somerville, MA. Amy writes and performs songs on ukulele, and has been featured as a vocalist with several local and national musicians. Her influences include Bessie Smith and the Asylum Street Spankers, and her vocals have been compared to Lena Horne. Her song "Dance Crush Blues" has been DJed at blues dance events across the country and as far away as Israel.

Looking forward by keeping one eye on the past, Sam Spencer creates music that is equally rooted in contrapuntal theory, bebop jazz and 20th century pop with some other stuff thrown in for good measure. Porchfest 2012 will find him utilizing the upright bass, ukulele, banjo and more, though probably one instrument at a time.

Pindar -Not to be confused with the Greek poet, is a blending of Rock, Eastern European, and Jazz themes. We'll be performing a collection of originals and covers -the later ranging from funk to Ska. Carefully orchestrated yelling from the audience is encouraged.

What could be more all-American than Blues, Jazz, and Tap Dance? How about a little Rock and Roll! Little Rose and the Boston All-Stars bring you the swingingest porch in Somerville! Vocalist and tap dancer Rose Giovanetti has assembled an eclectic line-up of musicians featuring Roberto Cassan, accordion virtuoso; Josh Hilberman, formerly 'the greatest tap dancer in Somerville'; Theo Powers, rhythm guitar and Elvis-style vocals; Jason Davis, stand-up guy on the upright bass; Sir Cecil Rednellac, the 'Ray Charles of Boston,' on drums; and Somerville legends Kathy Partridge, on taps, and saxophonist Dick 'the poet' Lourie. Did we mention dancing in the street?
