We're a ten-or-so piece street band that loves playing out on the streets of Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston (or otherwise at roller derby bouts, or at local breweries, or at your wedding...)! Stick around and you'll hear some surf rock, some New Orleans jazz/funk, some pop, some Klezmer, some punk.. a little bit of everything.

School of HONK is where we learn to play music the street band way! Armed with trumpets and trombones, saxophones and snare drums, clarinets and sousaphones, our mission is to spread the joy of music-making by parading loud and proud around our neighborhood to inspire our friends and neighbors to join our fun.

The Second Line Social Aid and Pleasure Society Brass Band is a 30 piece “raucous, stomp-your-foot-and-belt-out-the-choruses” New Orleans-style street band, based in Somerville and Cambridge, Massachusetts. We combine music with social action, slamming out the sounds of the legendary Crescent City for peace rallies, street festivals, parades, and benefits. We are also a part of the organizing force behind HONK!, a festival of activist street bands that takes place every October in Somerville’s Davis Square.
