Jamie Kallestad and Ben Cosgrove started performing as 90-Mile Portage in order to catch a break from their day jobs: Jamie is a nationally touring singer/songwriter (www.jamiekallestad.com) and Ben is a pianist and composer of music inspired by the North American landscape (www.bencosgrove.com). The music of 90-Mile Portage melds the two members' musical styles. Set to Cosgrove's lush and unconventional arrangements, Kallestad's songs take flight, lake-clear melodies borne up on strange and beautiful instrumental layers. 90-Mile Portage released an self-titled EP in 2013 and are slowly and quietly assembling a full-length release.

Jakals are a Somerville-based indie folk band made up of Katie Solomon (vocals), Jack Lewis (guitar), Zach Wulderk (bass), Bredon Jones (guitar) and Teryn Citino (drums). They are a bold and refreshing divergence from traditional New England folk acts, “a phenomenal newcomer on the scene that is definitely one to watch in the coming year” (Music Box Pete). Combining the vulnerability and intimacy of traditional folk with the grit of indie music, Jakals’ music explores deeply personal, often painful ideas and experiences.

Walter and the Night Owls are a Somerville, MA-based alternative-folk music quartet. Combining acoustic guitar, violin, and cello with vocal harmonies they’ve manage to create a sound all their own while echoing inspiration from songwriters like Josh Rouse, Jeff Tweedy, and Ray Lamontagne. Composed of three music educators (Masami, Afton, and Kristy) and a classical guitarist (Walter), Walter and the Night Owls was formed when a last minute gig sparked a musical kinship.
