Mutineer is an interrogation of rock music. What has it been and what can it be? The music is as dense as it is deft, often juxtaposing highly technical phrases against lush explorations of timbre. In this instantiation, Mutineer is an instrumental ensamble and boasts the following local Somervillains:

Pluto’s Return is a teen rock band from Somerville, MA that formed in early 2020. Band members include Colin Born (singer/ guitarist), Anthony Sasongko (pianist), Torin Cotter-White (bassist), and Kian Nhuch (drummer).  The band plays both covers and originals and has performed at Premiere on Broadway, the Burren, and last year’s PorchFest.

KOVATOVA plays music that is as equally funky as it is sad. New Jersey's finest musicians, now in Boston: to spread joy and bagels. Taking influence from jazz, funk, folk, and even hardcore, KOVATOVA's sweet melodies and melancholy lyrics are sure to make you feel something good.

Valkyrie Vail is a graphic designer, comic writer, artist and musician from Bangor, ME. Forged in the artistic fires of Bushwick, Brooklyn, she writes the sort of music (and comics!) that make one want to fall in love. Check out her art (and listen to her music) on IG @VVcomics!

Stuck at home during the pandemic, children's book author Jef Czekaj wrote a bunch of weird songs, mostly about Somerville history, & performed them in videos with puppets for the Somerville Public Library. These things happen.

When it came time to perform the songs live, he realized he needed a band. Luckily, his (excellent musician) friends Ernie Kim (drums & sax) and Horsewind (bass) lost a bet and are doomed to forever perform these songs with Jef.

There will be puppets.

Fever Dreams is a psychedelic band from Somerville formed only last year we are excited to show everyone what we've been working on. We are currently recording our first release which will be coming out in late June. We all cant wait to play our first PorchFest so come out and boogie with us!

These steely-eyed veterans of the Somerville "porch scene" are ready to throw dagger-like rock riffs at people.  A fully five-pieced band rock band, these guys immerse themselves in full-throated adequacy--  with a fruity aftertaste and some great mouth-feel.  Top band south of Highland!

BAKER THOMAS BAND has always been an eclectic collection of musicians and good friends getting together to make great music and have a blast. With anywhere from 7 to 10 and even more musicians on stage, the BTB is a wrecking ball of good times and rockin' tunes. Clever and catchy hit songs cover the spectrum of classic rock, funk and groove, with hints of bluegrass and jam band.... so many influences... one big sound.
