Hevy Sol is a blast from the past as heard through a distorted silver-face amp. This band is what rock and roll should be: raw, unapologetic, and authentic. Fronted by the powerful pipes and bluesy guitar stylings of Ashley Rhodes, complimented by Daniel Johnson's ball-busting bass lines, and backed by Stephen Cramer's groovin' beats, Hevy Sol is genuine rock in a world of programmed beats and auto-tuned vocals. With a strong female front, this band is anything but "girl rock". Our stripped down sound utilizes acoustic guitar and bass with cajon.

We are a cover band of sorts, covering mostly classic rock, alternative rock, and pop - with the possibilities of jazz, r&b, and soul thrown in.

A band that rocks like your favorite iron-on T-shirt.
Band Interests:
Brown, blue, or green-eyed blonds or brunettes in shiny leather (pleather acceptable) pants and/or tight jeans.
Non sequiturs, obscure movie references, inside (but not exclusive) humor, Knob Creek whiskey and wishful thinking.

We might play a set of our original songs, or just improv for an hour –  or we might surprise you with a favorite tune.

The Suitcase Album is a tale of two cities, the product of Greg Ferreira's Fung Wah travels from New York to Boston over the course of a year.

Inspired by the artistic ingenuity of Harry Nilsson, and the concept of making everywhere a recording studio and everyone a musician, Greg gathered friends to record in venues ranging from studios in Brooklyn to living rooms in Somerville.

Suitcase is a minimalist experiment born of a laptop and borrowed gear. Supporting talents include locals Jonathan Keane, Barry Clegg, Ajda Snyder, Alana Sacks and Sky Winchester and New Yorkers Mimi, Nick Colvin Adam Ciminello, and Matt LaVon.
