Black Marmot released its debut album “Run Home” in January of 2010. Since then the band has been delivering infectious folk rock tunes to crowds throughout New England. 2012 welcomed Black Marmot’s second album, “The Everyday Seeker” EP. The record found the band experimenting with ukulele, complicated harmonies, and even the addition of the rare bass VI. In 2015 Black Marmot returned to rock with "Words of Engagement" featuring staples of the band's live shows "Weapons," "The Trip," and "War in the Valley." Check the band out in the first slot of Porchfest outside of Union Square to get rocked in person and pick up a few album copies of your own!

We are four guys originally from other parts of the world now living in Somerville, who have been playing off and on for 15+ years with various other bands, who started this band specifically to play Porch Fest! Adam Meuse (vocals, guitar), Eli Connarton (bass/vocals), Keller McGuinness (lead guitar, vocals), and Geoff Ramone (drums) will be playing a set of classic rock and punk cover tunes, sure to be familiar to many!

This close musical partnership has allowed the band to develop a uniquely collaborative writing style--balanced by a tension between influences and styles—and hints at recognizable genres without falling prey to the conventional trappings of any particular one.
Red Right Hand (2 - 2:45 p.m.) singer/songwriter Jess Baggia's latest project explores the grittier, dark underbelly of her musical sensibilities. Miele is a Cambridge-based alternative rock band with psychedelic, grunge, metal, and funk influences. The word 'Miele' translates to 'honey' in Italian. The five-piece band was forged in Cambridge in 2014, emerging out of mutual interests in the intersection of therapy and music. The words of Miele point to the human condition; they celebrate the emotions, spirit, and wisdom that lives and breathes in all of us, as well as the misunderstood rage, the desire, and the chaos that erupts out of us when we cannot give it a voice.
