Kate Nies Brigham and Sara Miller present flight patterns(despair in minor) duet that addresses the migration of the heart and emotional dissonance in the context of an interpersonal relationship.
Kate Nies Brigham and Sara Miller met at Bates College and danced together while students there. Since reconnecting in early 2011, Kate and Sara have performed at Bates, Green Street Studios, The Dance Complex, Spoke the Hub and Third Life Studio.
Kate Nies Brigham creates dances about complexities in relationships. Kate graduated from Bates College with a degree in Dance and Women's Studies. While there, she received the Marcy Plavin Award for Dance Excellence. Her work has been shown in multiple venues in New York City and throughout New England. She has produced a number of concerts of her own work as well as several Shared Choreographers' Concerts at The Dance Complex. In 2007 she received an Emerging Artists Grant from Green Street Studios, and in 2008 was part of ThisThat Show #1, curated by Danny McCusker. Her work has most recently been seen at Spoke the Hub in Brooklyn, New York, and as a part of the newly formed Cambridge Choreographers’ Collective. In Boston she has had the pleasure of dancing for Carrie Schantz Voiland, Danny Swain and Rozann Kraus.
