The David Arteaga Quartet is a group of some of Boston’s finest jazz artists that has coalesced over the past several years, performing regularly in Inman Square, Cambridge as the house-band for the ongoing Lilypad Sunday Nite Jazz Jam that David started in 2014.
Firmly rooted in the tradition of our great American art-form, this band is always reaching to explore new territory of composition, expression + improvisation, without losing track of those essential ingredient: singing melodic lines + satisfying rhythmic grooves that make music feel joyous and fun to listen to.
They will be for performing several tunes from their 2017 CD release PICTURE, an album of all original compositions by Arteaga, as well as original arrangements of a choice standard or two.
This is no sleepy cocktail jazz: this group cooks + wails!
