"A few months ago I saw a pole painted with yellow industrial paint that had started to crack and rust. The cracks appeared to form a grid. I imagined the paint continuing to age, and the cracks growing into a detailed map of the surrounding area.
The design for the switchbox is based on this idea. The back of the switchbox is covered in a map of Somerville, Boston, and Cambridge that’s delineated by the cracks in yellow paint. Tucked quietly in the corner of a parking lot it’s easy to miss, a subtle curiosity to stumble upon." -- Anne Patsch
