Discover SAC’s many programs and initiatives that support artists, creativity and community across Somerville
On July 1, the Somerville Arts Council became Somerville Arts & Culture—still SAC, with the same mission and a name that better reflects the breadth of our work and our vision for the future.
Many people know SAC through beloved festivals like PorchFest, ArtBeat, and Carnaval. While these events remain an important part of who we are, they are just one part of what we do. Year-round, we support artists and creative entrepreneurs, steward public art and cultural spaces, award grants, foster youth and multicultural programming, build partnerships across the City, and help shape initiatives that strengthen Somerville’s cultural ecosystem.
During this period of transition, our dedicated staff, board members, artists, volunteers, City partners, and community members have continued to strengthen and grow this work while laying the foundation for what’s next.
