SomerWrites

SomerWrites is a monthly event series established in 2026, co-hosted by the Somerville Arts Council and Portico Brewing, and organized by SAC Board member Sarah Beckmann.

These events are free and open to all: a space for writers of all genres and backgrounds, and people curious about different types of writing, to connect with each other and share their work. The structure is a mix of open mic—where attendees have the opportunity to read a short piece or excerpt—and featured talks and readings by invited guest writers, which rotate each month.
