Frequently asked questions:
Weather alert! The tour will take place regardless of rain or light snow if travel conditions for the trolleys are safe. Typically, only in a snow emergency will the tour be cancelled. If cancelled on Saturday, the tour will take place during the same time on Sunday. On the day of the tour call the City information number 617.666.3311 or within Somerville, 311, to inquire about weather cancellation.
Can I reserve or buy tickets over the phone?
No
Is Blue Cloud Gallery the only place to buy tickets?
Yes, except on rare occasions there may be tickets left over and sold at City Hall on the evening of the tour. Cash or check sales only, NO credit card sales.
Can I exchange tickets and get a different trolley time?
Yes, if tickets remain for your new time.
A friend bought tickets and I want to be on their trolley; how do I determine which trolley?
Be sure you know which trolley, either the "A", "B", "C", "D", or "E" trolley and which time slot your friend is on as well as if you'd prefer a West Somerville or East Somerville tour. The West Somerville tour tickets are the "D" trolley.
I would like to take a self-guided tour and want a map.
Some tour goers would prefer to go on their own. Maps of the tour are developed at the last week prior to the tour to ensure we haven't missed any good houses. Map are available for $3 the evening of the tour or at Blue Cloud Gallery in Ball Sq. or Porter Square Books the Monday after the tour. (see tickets, maps webpage above)
Tickets are sold out. Do you have a wait list?
Often tours have some seats open up because ticketed tour goers can not attend. For each tour we do a final count of any available seats and if there are open seats we can release those seats to those on a wait list. Wait lists are created the evening of tour--not before-- and require you to be present. Come to City Hall that evening.
