Forever Fluff: 20 Years of Sticky, Sweet Somerville

Join us in Union Square on Saturday, September 20, 2025 2–6 p.m., (severe weather date Sunday, September 21) for the 20th annual What the Fluff? Festival, Somerville’s wild, wacky tribute to Marshmallow Fluff and the city’s spirit of innovation.

Enjoy live music, Fluff-inspired food, sticky games, family fun, and local vendors celebrating two decades of sweet community tradition.

What the Fluff? is produced by Union Square Main Streets, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the unique character and supporting the vibrancy of the Union Square business district, in partnership with the Somerville Arts Council as part of the City’s ArtsUnion initiative to enhance cultural economic development in Union Square.

Parking & Getting Here
Union Square has very limited parking. The best ways to get to Fluff are walking, biking (free bike valet!), dancing your way over, or taking public transit. If you must drive, please park on the outskirts of Union Square to avoid heavy traffic. (But really, we don’t recommend driving.)

Accessible Parking
Reserved accessible spots will be available on School St., closest to Somerville Ave.

Road Closures & Parking Restrictions:

• Somerville Ave. (School St. to Washington St.) closed to traffic: 11 a.m.–8 p.m.
• Quincy St., Church St., Bow St. two-way between Summer St. and Somerville Ave. 11 a.m.–8 p.m. (abutter access only)
• Hawkins St. two-way between Lake St. and Washington Ave. 11 a.m.–8 p.m. (abutter access only)
• No Parking: Dane St. to Washington St., 8 a.m.–8 p.m.
• MBTA buses rerouted 11 a.m.–8 p.m. Check updated stop locations at MBTA.com
