Council members are volunteers who live in Somerville and are active in the arts or community. They may serve up to two three-year terms, and are appointed by the Mayor.
Board members provide advise and project support to the Council’s work. They also serve as a sounding board to the Mayor concerning arts and culture in our community. Typically, the board meets monthly. The board also leads our Local Cultural Council grant initiative that provides funding to the community.
