This piece is currently be worked on and developed with David Dorfman. It will be a full evening length work and is based on the change in human interaction and the human moment due to the demand for a fast paced life and the development of technology, personal computers and iOS systems. It explores the Work-Life Balance, relationships and the desire for the human touch. It challenges the audience to take a moment to be in the moment...and to re-evaluate the need to shut down.
BoSoma Dance Company, established in 2003 by Katherine Hooper and Irada Djelassi, is a Boston-based contemporary dance company combining vibrant, energetic movement with athletic performance quality. The company's mission is to make dance captivating and accessible through dynamic performance and community education. BoSoma presented its premiere performance, Velocity, in September 2004. Since then, the company has presented two annual shows each year in Boston.
In 2009, BoSoma launched their Opening Acts Series, which supports emerging dance companies by inviting them to open a BoSoma performance. The company also continues to be involved in the community, completing educational outreach residencies in Massachusetts’s public elementary schools. After producing and performing in the first annual Massachusetts Dance Festival in 2009, BoSoma contributed pieces that were highlighted in the 2010 and 2011 festivals.
