Ajda the Turkish Queen is a singer-songwriter who's been on the Boston music scene for many moons. She performs her original songs on mandolin and guitar. Hailing from Texas, but borne of a Turkish mother, her sound has been described as rootsy yet ethereal. Influences include PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, and Nico (and too many others to count), and she has been compared to Aimee Mann and Thalia Zedek.
