About Central Street Studios
This latest exhibit at the Inside-Out gallery in Davis Square celebrates the multifaceted creativity of Central Street Studios. For nearly 40 years, 57 Central Street has hosted artists of all genres. Within its unassuming walls, there is a bustling energy of visual artists, film-makers, writers, and musicians who hone their craft, creating a unique vibe that feels distinctly Somerville—quirky, creative, and fun. With over 20 studio spaces, this showcase is just a mere glimpse of the eclectic array of talent that dons in the halls of Central Street.

Founded in 1983 by Paul & Karen Morse, woodworker/fiber artists respectfully, with partners Nancy Dutton & David Bensen, it has always been their mission to preserve this special creative community, allowing the arts sector of Somerville to continue to thrive. Now, there is an opportunity for the artists to look to the future and preserve their space for the next generation of artists. Fundraising efforts are already underway, and the art community is asking for contributions to help secure the building. Please support their cause to keep the arts in Somerville strong!

The Inside-OUT Gallery is located in the CVS Window in Davis Square, a unique space that allows the public to view an eclectic array of works from artists and local organizations each month. The mission of the Somerville Arts Council is to cultivate and celebrate the creative expressions of the Somerville community. Through innovative collaborations and quality programming we work to make the arts an integral part of life reflective of our diverse city.
