One outcome of the Cultural Capacity Plan is to continue the cultivation of our ambassador program, which can provide structure to provide guidance and work on specific initiatives. With ongoing lack of rehearsal space, changing economics in running a venue, we decided in 2025 to focus our work on the music ecosystem and to continue working with music ambassador Ajda Synder.
Since April 2025 we have been holding meetings to gauge: what more can we as a community do to support the music ecosystem. How can we utilize “mixers” and meet ups to find support for the community. How can we continue to cultivate individuals to remain ready to advocate if issues arise or if opportunities occur? How do we pool known resources to ensure they are available to newcomers to the community?
With the recently acquired Armory building by the City, how can this new resource support the music ecosystem? How can the building provide needed affordable and stable space for the arts community and potentially the music community?
How does upcoming development in Union Square support music needs? How do we get the music community organize to respond to future opportunity?
This questions are being discussed and in general the mixers and meetings are just a fun way to network.
