How to Apply for a Block Party

Residents interested in organizing a block party during PorchFest must apply through the City Clerk’s block party permit process. Submitting an application does not guarantee your block party will be approved.

Block parties must follow PorchFest performance time windows and allow additional time for setup and breakdown.

Example:
If your block party takes place in East Somerville:
Setup begins at 3:30 PM
Event runs from 4:00–6:00 PM
Breakdown must conclude by 6:30 PM

Block parties are only permitted on streets where traffic closures will not significantly impact major roadways.
