History Comes to Life

Presented in partnership with the Somerville Museum, this year’s interactive historical experiences invite visitors to explore revolutionary ideas through creativity and participation. Historical figures will time travel to meet us at the festival and present 8-minute soap box speeches throughout the day.  Statues will be adorned with colonial attire and transformed into Revolutionary characters. Find the Somerville Museum table in front of the Somerville Theatre where you can learn more about their programming, buy merch, and pick up a vintage telephone and hear contemporary recorded messages about the theme of Revolution!

Along the way, keep an eye out for ArtBeat’s first Town Crier, try your hand at quill writing with a Revolutionary reenactor, and discover how history continues to inspire creativity, community, and change.
