¡Ven a celebrar el inicio de la primavera y descubre la vibrante escena de arte público en East Somerville!

Acompáñanos en el Recorrido de Arte Público en East Somerville, un evento gratuito de 90 minutos, presentado por el Somerville Arts Council en colaboración con East Somerville Main Streets. Este recorrido se llevará a cabo en español y es una invitación para explorar el arte que da vida a nuestras calles. A través de 9 paradas fascinantes, entre esculturas, murales, mosaicos y cajas de luz pintadas, conocerás las historias únicas que rodean cada obra y cómo reflejan la riqueza cultural y la diversidad de nuestra comunidad.

Este evento tiene un significado especial, ya que celebra y amplifica las voces de las diversas comunidades que conforman East Somerville. Es una oportunidad única para apreciar nuestro patrimonio cultural, fortalecer el sentido de comunidad, promover el aprendizaje cultural, apoyar a los negocios locales y fomentar un legado de inclusión y orgullo.

Nos emociona contar con dos artistas invitados que compartirán la inspiración detrás de sus increíbles obras. Fermín Castro presentará su escultura en madera “¡Seguimos Escuchando!”, y Michael Talbot hablará sobre su mural “Aves del Mismo Plumaje” y la caja de luz pintada “Reflexiones Silenciosas.” Sus perspectivas darán vida a estas obras para todos los asistentes.

El recorrido concluirá con una experiencia opcional de degustación de sabores locales en el restaurante Taco Loco, donde podrás disfrutar de auténtica comida hispana y reflexionar sobre el arte y las historias que descubriste durante el recorrido. Ten en cuenta que la comida no está incluida en el evento, pero es una excelente manera de continuar apoyando a nuestros negocios locales.

Nota: El Somerville Arts Council se reserva el derecho de cancelar el evento en caso de no alcanzar el número mínimo de participantes o debido a inclemencias del tiempo. Se notificará a los participantes registrados sobre cualquier cambio.

Let’s celebrate the start of spring and explore the vibrant public art scene in East Somerville!

Join us for the East Somerville Public Art Walking Tour, a free 90-minute event presented by the Somerville Arts Council in collaboration with East Somerville Main Streets. This tour, conducted in Spanish, invites you to discover the art that brings our streets to life. Throughout 9 captivating stops, featuring sculptures, murals, mosaics, and painted utility boxes, you’ll uncover the unique stories behind each piece and how they reflect the cultural richness and diversity of our community.

This event is especially meaningful as it celebrates and amplifies the voices of the diverse communities that make up East Somerville. It’s a unique opportunity to appreciate our cultural heritage, strengthen community ties, promote cultural learning, support local businesses, and foster a legacy of inclusion and pride.

We’re excited to feature two guest artists who will share the inspiration behind their incredible works. Fermin Castro will present his wood sculpture “We Are Still Listening!”, and Michael Talbot will discuss his mural “Birds of a Feather” and the painted switch box “Quiet Reflections.” Their insights will bring these artworks to life for all attendees.

The tour will conclude with an optional culinary experience at Taco Loco, where you can savor authentic local dishes and reflect on the art and stories you encountered during the tour. Please note that meals are not included, but this is a fantastic way to continue supporting our local businesses.
