Hi! My name is Pampi. I believe in and work towards the application of the arts for strategic intervention and political mobilization of people's movements. On that note, I design wearable art; develop experimental performance pieces through community workshop techniques; write poetry; and host potlucks. I am currently making a big leap: committing to securing a studio. While my forte is in pen and ink, I enjoy experimenting with video, poetry, movement and installation. In my work I tend to engage issues of identity, gender, sexuality and the body politic.
Heather Balchunas, originally from Westfield, MA received her Associate Degree from Greenfield Community College in 1994 and a BFA in illustration from Massachusetts College of Art in 1997. Some of her artistic influences are Georgia O’Keefe, Kandinsky, Edward Hopper, and Brian Froud. Balchunas feels it is this diverse mix that motivates, inspires, and encourages her to explore.
