Louder Than Milk is a band, a sad band.  We've played Porchfest every year, except this year, this sad, sad year.  Here's a happy, sad song/video to fit our mood, Fire & Wine.  Rock on, Somerville.  We'll see you in 2021.

Spats Riley

Music Genre:
Band Description:

Borrowing her name from her father’s 70s band, Spats Riley brings biting lyrics to classic Americana in what has been dubbed “broken-hearted country blues.” Hailing from Somerville, MA, Spats has rock‘n’roll roots in the city but owes her Northern twang to an upbringing in the woods of Maine.

Band Description:

Based in Somerville, this is the fourth performance at Somerville Porchfest and first live stream ever that The Erlenmeyers will play. Since the Covid 19 crisis has forced a shelter-in-place, the band was forced to cancel all upcoming shows for 2020 promoting their new album Mighty Fine (available on sound cloud: https://soundcloud.com/theerlenmeyers) and this will be the first performance since the shutdown. The band recorded the live stream on Friday May 8 at 5 P.M. on a porch outdoors and appropriately social distanced. Mary P & the Friendly Friends

Music Genre:
Porchfest Sub Genre:
Band Description:

Mary P & the Friendly Friends: Each year different friends join Mary on her "forever home" porch on Morrison Ave. This year friends from across the country contributed to a few collaborative videos that we hope will convey some of the spirit, spontaneity, and joyfulness of Porchfest. The set contains mainly sing-along favorites that are all kid-friendly. (It’s generally the stuff you might sing in the woods around a campfire.)

This event is BYO: hula hoops, chalk, bubbles, and lemonade. We’ll definitely be bringing bubbles.

Mill River Rounders

Music Genre:
Porchfest Sub Genre:
Band Description:

The Mill River Rounders play with the living quality of Old Time and Americana music.  Washtub bass, banjo, guitar, and fiddle (if his bike endures the commute).  When they get together, there is an atmosphere of simple enjoyment that is pleasant in a somehow mischievous kind of way.  The banter and musicianship bring to life the recurring struggles, joys, and folly of the ordinary lives from the past. \
