From the Mississippi Delta, to the banks of the Connecticut River, The Coffee Grinders embody the SOUL AND SPIRIT of The Delta Blues.
Members include Frank Breen on Acoustic Guitar and Vocals, and Jim Choquette on Vocals, Harmonica. Playing Acoustic Country Delta Blues in the style of Robert Johnson, Charley Patton, Muddy Waters and others.
Frank Breen incorporates Delta Blues History in to the performance. As well as his playing is very true to the old school sound. Jim's soulful vocals and acoustic style harmonica playing add to the classic Delta Blues sound.
Both are members of The Connecticut Blues Society and have been finalists in the 2014 CTBS Solo/Duo Challenge, the 2015 and 2016 CTBS Band Challenge, and Frank was a finalist in the 2015 CTBS Solo/Duo Challenge. Frank & Jim were finalists in the 2016 CTBS Solo/Duo Challenge , and Frank WON the 2017 Solo/Duo Challenge
and competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tenn. Making it into the Semi-Finals Jan 16-21 2018
