The Solo Recorder, Past and Future with Emily O'Brien

The recorder is much maligned and well known from elementary school music classes. But it actually has a rich repertoire spanning a thousand years, with its heart in the Renaissance and Baroque periods. And its development continues to this day. In this presentation, I will demonstrate recorders from several time periods and perform some of the virtuosic repertoire for this beautiful instrument, including compositions both old and new.
