The Somerville Arts Council (SAC) is launching the COVID Relief Grant program to provide financial assistance to local cultural institutions that are facing dire economic circumstances brought on by the COVID crisis. We are aware that many local organizations are in peril due to the crisis. This new grant program strives to provide support to our local cultural infrastructure; we believe that supporting Somerville space-based arts organizations is a key way to do that.
We anticipate providing one-time Covid Relief grants of between $3,000 and $50,000. This new COVID Relief grant program, and SAC’s new BIPOC Support grant program, have a total of $120,000 to distribute.
The deadline to submit is Monday, September 28th at 11:59 p.m.
We anticipate announcing awards no later than Monday, Oct. 5th. Grant recipients must conduct their work by May 1, 2021.
